Our afternoons with a visiting speak are a great way to explore something new or chat about skills you have. The afternoon will be run at LilyBoo and it will immerse you into drawing, commencing with a talk from the talented Tamsin Dearing. Tamsin will share her love of portraiture and drawing, and showcase how the simplest of tools can create realistic artworks through to sketched nature studies. Professional artist, Tamsin specialises in pencil, coloured pencil, pastel and charcoal drawing. And more recently has developed a passion for en plein air sketching which also incorporates watercolour and pen work. As well as learning about the life of a Cornish professional artist, Tamsin will teach you the foundations of pencil drawing with an interactive demonstration focused on shading.
Tamsin will be joining us for an hour talk with will include a small demonstration about shading within your work.
We will then enjoy a cream tea and receive a lovely gift of your own sketch book and pencils ready to use on the day if you wish. You can also bring some of your own work to share on the day.
The last part of the day is a great time to have a go at your own sketching or share some of your own work.
Some of Tamsin’s work will be available to purchase should you wish to.
Anyone, whether you are a beginner to the art of drawing or have some experience.
